Container Planting Workshop 2025

Join us for a container planting workshop led by Untermyer gardener Maryam Farzaneh on Saturday, May 10 from 10 AM until 11 AM. In this workshop, Maryam will demonstrate the process of planting and designing beautiful container gardens.
Maryam is an expert in container gardening and design, and go beyone the basic thriller, filler, spiller technique to teach you how to create stunning container gardens that look great in all four seasons. She will also demonstrate proper plant choices and planting techniques for a variety of container sizes, and show you how to plant a small, medium, and large container.
Maryam is a gardener at Untermyer Gardens and also has her own landscape design business. She has a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from Fordham University, a Floristry degree from Kew Gardens in England, and a Horticulture and Landscape Design Certificate from New York Botanical Garden. Her passion for gardening and design is rooted in her Persian origin and her experiences living in various cities around the world.
Container gardening is a wonderful way to enjoy gardening in any outdoor space, and with Maryam’s expert advice, you’ll learn how to create beautiful and thriving container gardens.
